Expensive designer items have been stolen after a thief brazenly ram-raided the Louis Vuitton store at Melbourne’s Crown Casino.

Sergeant Megan Stefanec said police responded to the ram raid in Southbank just before 2am on Thursday.
She said a grey Holden Captiva SUV drove through the front window of the Louis Vuitton store on Whiteman St and the thief stole several designer items from inside the store.
They then drove off in the SUV.
Detectives combed the scene looking for clues and gathering CCTV on Thursday morning.

Smashed glass was still on the footpath and a large hole could be seen in the front window directly under the Louis Vuitton name.

The store sells luxury leather goods, handbags, trunks, shoes, watches, jewellery and accessories, with some bags retailing at more than $7000.
